Happy to be back in Hanoi

 (Hanoi, Vietnam, 4-6th of February)

It was so nice to be back in Hanoi again, almost like coming home, a lot because the staff at the hotel were so friendly and service minded. We had planned to make a trip on the 6:th up to Sapa in the north of Vietnam but realized that a weather with 3 degrees celsius and rain is not the best to trek in, especially not if you already got a cold (Johan) The nice hotel staff helped us to cancel our trip and then we rebooked our flight down to Hue, a smaller town along the coast.

Johan spent the day in bed, trying to get well again and Christel went out for some sightseeing on her own. It is so nice to be in a country were you do not have to be afraid to walk alone out in the streets, like in South America. Christel visited the women´s museum where they exhibit a lot about the life of the Vietnamese women including clothing, ceremonies etc, a really nice museum.

The next stop was the National Art Museum with a lot of paintings from different time eras. The museum did not have that many guests, in fact it was a bit worn down and boring. Although worth a visit!

The final event was the Water Puppet show nearby our hotel. Water Puppet theatre is an art form very typical for Vietnam and each day they have performances at least 5 times. Christel arrived five minutes before the show started but managed to get a ticket. It is a cute form of art with a live orchestra who also make all sound effects and with beautiful puppet figures jumping around in the water on the scene.

In the evening we went out for dinner at a restaurant recommended by our hotel. At first we thought the place was a bit too fancy but we were glad we stayed. The food was outstanding! It was served in an unusual way and it tasted so fantastic. Best so far!
