A short stay in La Paz

(La Paz, Bolivia, 3-4th of November 2017)

We headed east with a bus-company called “Bolivia Hop”, on a trip that crosses the border between Peru and Bolivia. As long as we were in Peru we travelled with a rather luxury bus. When we got to the border we had to take our luggage and walk across the border.

First we passed the Peruvian office and a couple of hundreds meter later we immigrated to Bolivia. A very smooth process! Our bus on the Bolivian side was really basic (old…).

Just after the border crossing we had a longer stop in a town called Copacabana.

In Copacabana, next to Lake Titicaca (it is a really big lake, we visited it in/from Peru yesterday!) we took a boat trip  to an island called Isla del sol. A nice but windy one-hour trip on a small boat. Once there most of the people went for a hike but we stayed in the harbor and enjoyed coffee and pancaces.

Late in the evening we arrived to La Paz and the bus let us off at our hotel, a really nice place with comfortable beds, good, as we were only there for some hours sleep as we should head out the next day before breakfast time.
