Finally in “The Outback”
(The Outback, Australia, 12th of February 2017)
It was a good idea to sleep on the bus also if you woke up on a regular basis. At five o’clock, the bus switched drivers and we went away to buy some coffee at a gas station. Next stop was a breakfast stop at eight o’clock. Not much fun food to choose from for someone like me who does not like fried eggs and bacon. I ended up with toast and marmalade and Johan had some toast with egg and bacon. The landscape continued to look roughly the same throughout the whole morning. Very flat, some single trees and still not particularly dry.
We arrived in Alice Springs at half past two in the afternoon. We had booked a room in a backpacker hotel located just outside the city center. What a cool place with 1000 funny details and paintings everywhere.
We walked into the small town to have lunch. Not much for us to choose from as we only found one open restaurant. We had fish and chips at The Rock Bar, a restaurant right next to the office of the travel agency whom we had booked a three-day camping trip with. After our lunch, we went into the office to confirm our participation in the tour and we got some more practical information. It will be really great fun to go on an adventure tour.
