Divine burgers in Colombo
What a difference between India and Sri Lanka! We came from an Indian chaos and arrived to a prosperous town with nice shops and restaurants along the roads. No cows in sight and less traffic chaos, although they honk a lot in Sri Lanka as well.
Our hotel in Columbo, the Canes Boutique Hotel, was a wonderful small hotel in the middle of a residential area. Best of all in this hotel was the manager Arun who was so incredibly friendly, helpful and interested in his guests.
We spent a lot of time at the hotel to get our blog (Yeah, the one you are reading right now.) online as we actually had a pretty descent internet connection. (Most hotel of them we have stayed at in India really have a lousy internet connection.) In between all the time on internet we went for some really long walks in the city.
The meals in Colombo consisted of authentic Sri Lankan food, for an example Kuttu – fried pieces of bread mixed with vegetables and /or meat and a Whopper meal from Burger King. Both of these options tasted absolutely fantastic. Back home in Sweden, we very rarely eat burgers from Burger King and do not think too much about it, but after eating Indian food for almost two months and hardly no meat at all the Whopper meal tasted fantastic! (And exactly as at home!)
